• A single turned pedestal

  One post carries the whole top instead of four legs at the corners. It narrows to a slim neck, swells into a rounded urn, then spreads into four curved feet that keep the table steady without anything to bump your knees on.

• Two leaves change the size

  Two 9 inch drop leaves fold up from the sides to complete the full circle, held level by wood supports that swing out from underneath. Both up, the table seats four. Fold both down against the pedestal and the top shrinks to a tight circle, better for two than a full table.

• Assembly out of the box

  The table ships in two boxes, one for the top and one for the turned pedestal. Assembly is required and one person can do it; tools are included, so you do not need your own hex key or screwdriver on hand.

• Solid rubberwood, espresso finish

  The top and pedestal are solid wood, a rubberwood finished in a warm espresso stain that reads reddish brown rather than black. The grain shows clearly beneath the finish, and the same wood continues down through all four curved feet for one consistent look.

• Seats four, room to move

  Both leaves up, four chairs fit around the 42 inch circle with legroom to spare since the single pedestal leaves no corner posts in the way. Pull a chair out and there is still clearance to walk behind the person seated across the table.

• Sturdy enough for daily use

  Table weight is 51 pounds once assembled, enough to stay put through a family meal without shifting underfoot. It is sized for everyday plates, bowls, and serving dishes, not extra capacity for heavy standing loads. A hot pan straight off the stove can still mark the finish, so set it on a trivet or a folded towel first.
