• Curved wing-shaped back

  The backrest is a single curved, wing-shaped rail in natural oak, resting on two slim posts joined by one horizontal slat at mid-height. The grain runs across the curve in one continuous piece rather than stacked boards, and the whole rail is rounded smooth at both ends.

• Tapered legs, low stretcher

  Four tapered legs splay slightly outward from the seat and are joined near the floor by a stretcher on each side, an open, mid-century stance rather than a boxy, enclosed base. Legs and back posts share the same natural oak finish as the top rail.

• Assembly at home

  Assembly is required. Two people are recommended for the job, and the hardware and tools you need ship in the carton, so there is nothing extra to buy before the legs and back come together at home.

• Cloth, soap, and water

  Clean the fabric seat with a cloth, mild soap, and warm water rather than a stronger cleaner or a wet wipe-down. Wipe the wood frame the same gentle way, and blot any spill before it sets rather than letting it soak into the seam.

  The seat is foam-padded beneath the fabric rather than a bare wood pan, and the curved top rail cradles your lower back instead of sitting flat like a straight ladder rail. There is no swivel and no armrests; this is a fixed four-leg dining chair, not a task chair.

• Rubberwood frame, poly seat

  Legs, back posts, and the curved top rail are solid rubberwood, kiln-dried and finished in a natural oak tone. The seat and back panel are the only upholstered parts, a light beige polyester fabric over a foam pad rather than leather or a woven material.
