Four candelabra sockets sit on exposed arms below a single off-white linen-blend drum, so the fixture reads as an open chandelier rather than a sealed shade with light hidden inside it.

• One drum, four exposed arms

  This is a single drum shade, not a tiered stack. Four brushed nickel arms bend out from a center column and turn up, so each socket stands in the open just under the linen rim and the bulbs stay visible from the side.

• Rod hung, set your height

  It hangs from a rigid rod, not a chain and not a cable. Stem sections of 6, 12, and 18 inches stack to set the drop, up to about 35 inches overall, and the round canopy is rated for a sloped ceiling.

• The 8 foot wire

  The fixture also comes with an 8 foot supply wire. That length is the electrical lead running down to the sockets, not the suspension: the weight rides on the rigid rod and the stem sections you install above the shade, so plan the drop in rod lengths.

• Hardwired to a ceiling box

  This is a hardwired fixture at 120 volts, not a plug-in lamp, so it connects to a junction box in the ceiling behind the canopy. Assembly is required and a screwdriver and pliers are needed. Have an electrician make the connections if you are not comfortable wiring it.

• E12 bulbs and dimming

  Each of the four sockets takes an E12 candelabra base bulb in the B10 candle shape, 60 watts max. Bulbs are not included. The fixture dims, but only if you put in a dimmable bulb and wire it to a compatible dimmer switch, and neither of those comes in the box.

• Damp-rated, not wet-rated

  It is damp-rated and ETL listed, which covers a bathroom outside the shower spray, a covered porch, or a stairwell that gets humid. It is not wet-rated, so keep it out of direct rain and away from any spot where water hits the fixture.

• What is in the box

  The box holds the chandelier, the round canopy, the stem sections, and the off-white linen-blend drum shade. Bulbs are not included, and neither is a dimmer switch. The fixture weighs 8 lb, which is light for its size and easy to hold up while you make the connections.

• Cleaning the linen and nickel

  Dust the linen drum with a dry cloth or a soft brush attachment, working around the shade rather than across it. Wipe the brushed nickel arms with a clean dry cloth and skip liquid cleaners on the finish. Let a bulb cool before you touch the socket.
