A single matte black arc rises from a weighted round base, bowing overhead before branching into three slender arms of stepped length. Each arm ends in a beige fabric drum shade, so light spills warm and low across a reading chair or the corner of a sofa instead of one hard pool. The frame's matte black finish and the shades' woven linen-look texture keep the silhouette closer to a piece of furniture than a fixture.

• One arc, three shades

  The frame bows from a weighted round base into a single matte black arc, then splits into three arms of stepped length so the beige fabric drum shades cluster together instead of lining up in a row. Overall reach is 44 inches wide and 43 deep, so it steps into a room rather than hugging a wall.

• Three warm pools of light

  Each drum shade filters its bulb into a soft, warm glow rather than a hard downlight, and the three heads sit at slightly different heights so the light falls in layers instead of one flat wash. It reads more like a piece of furniture that happens to glow than a fixture bolted in place.

• No hardwiring, no electrician

  This is a plug-in floor lamp, not a hardwired fixture: there is no junction box, no wall mount and no electrician to schedule. Move the weighted base into place, plug the cord into a standard 110-volt outlet, and the lamp is ready. Assembly of the base, column and three arms is required before the first use.

• Reach and shade height

  The arc extends 40 inches out from the base column, and the shortest shade's underside sits 52 inches above the floor, low enough to actually light a book. Because it stands rather than hangs from a ceiling, there is no downrod length or sloped-ceiling math to work out, only floor space for the base and the arc's swing.

• Three E26 sockets, no bulbs

  Each arm ends in its own E26 medium-base socket rated up to 100 watts, and the three run independently off a rotary switch at each head, so you can light one shade or all three. Bulbs are not included, so plan on three bulbs sized to fit inside a 12-inch drum shade before it arrives.

• Listed for dry, indoor rooms

  The lamp is CSA Certified and both cETL Listed and ETL Listed for indoor use, and it ships built for dry rooms only: living rooms, bedrooms and reading nooks, not bathrooms, covered porches or anywhere damp. Keep the cord and plug away from rugs that trap moisture, and treat it the way you would any plug-in lamp with a fabric shade.

• Cleaning and changing a bulb

  Wipe the matte black finish and the base with a dry, soft cloth; skip household cleaners, which can dull the metal's patina. To change a bulb, reach up under the drum shade to the socket, twist the old bulb free and turn in the replacement, one shade at a time.

• What's in the box

  In the box: a weighted base, a column that assembles in sections, three arms and three fabric shades, plus the hardware to put them together; assembly is required before it stands on its own. Bulbs are not included, so have three E26 bulbs ready before it arrives, and the whole fixture weighs 27.06 pounds assembled.
