The fixture holds six G9 lamps behind frosted white glass globes. Arms radiate from a brass hub, so the light sits as a wide, even wash rather than a single downlight in the middle of the room.

• Brass sputnik silhouette

  Six brushed brass arms of different lengths radiate out from a round center hub at odd angles, in the sputnik style, with the whole piece sitting close to the ceiling rather than hanging down. Two arms reach further than the others, so the fixture reads asymmetrical rather than a perfectly even star.

• Frosted globes, soft glow

  Each arm ends in a round, frosted white glass globe that hides the bulb and turns it into an even ball of light rather than a bare point. The globes come in two sizes on this fixture, which keeps the spread of light and the shape of the piece from feeling too uniform.

• Hardwired, easy to install

  This semi-flush mount is hardwired, not plug-in, so it wires into a ceiling junction box and an electrician should make the connections. Assembly is straightforward: the arms and canopy install first, then each globe twists onto its own arm once the fixture is wired in.

• Sits close to the ceiling

  This is a semi-flush mount, not a hanging pendant, so it sits close to the ceiling on a short downrod rather than dropping down on a long chain. Overall height from the ceiling to the bottom of the globes is 7.1 inches, and the fixture spans 45.3 inches across, wide enough to read as a centerpiece over a table.

• Small G9 bulbs, not standard

  Each of the six sockets takes a small G9 bi-pin bulb, up to 25 watts, which is a narrower two-prong base rather than a standard screw-in bulb, and none are included. The fixture is dimmable, but only with dimmable G9 bulbs installed and a compatible dimmer switch, both sold separately.

• Dry rated, ETL listed

  This fixture is rated for dry locations only, so keep it away from a bathroom, a covered porch, or anywhere near steam or splashing water. It is ETL listed for safety, but a dry rating does not extend to a damp or wet space.

• Dusting brass and glass

  Dust the brass arms and the frosted glass globes with a dry, soft cloth to keep the finish and the glass free of buildup. Skip household glass cleaner on the brass, since it can dull the finish, and wipe the globes separately with a barely damp cloth if needed.

• What ships in the box

  This fixture arrives with the brass frame, canopy, downrod, and glass globes included, ready for assembly. Bulbs are not included, so plan on six G9 bulbs, and add a dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs separately if you want the fixture to dim.
