Marnau Drehen 12-Light Lantern Chandelier

Twelve candelabra lights sit in a three-tier black lantern with a gold core. Hardwired, rod-hung, and dry-rated, it takes E12 bulbs and works on a sloped ceiling.

Twelve candle-style bulbs sit on a gold stem inside an open black cage, three tiers of four. Light spills through every side of the lantern instead of pooling behind a shade.

• Tall lantern tower shape

  Nested black wrought-iron frames stack and offset from each other to build a tall, narrow rectangular cage, closer to a lantern tower than a single boxy shade. A brass center pole runs straight up the middle, visible through the open bars from every angle.

• Twelve candle lights, upward

  Three tiers of four brass candelabra arms sit inside the cage, each bulb pointed straight up rather than down, so the ironwork itself catches and scatters the light instead of hiding it behind glass. It reads as a strong vertical statement over a table or in a stairwell.

• Hardwired, arrives assembled

  This chandelier is hardwired, not plug-in, so it wires into a ceiling junction box and an electrician should make the connections. The cage, arms, and bulb sockets arrive fully assembled; installing it is mainly choosing how many downrod sections to use, then wiring the canopy to the box and mounting it, which also works on a sloped ceiling.

• Downrods set the drop

  It hangs on a rigid rod rather than a chain, and six downrod sections ship with it, three at 11.8 inches and three at 7.87 inches, which combine for up to 59 inches of drop. Maximum overall height reaches 101.8 inches, tall enough for a two-story entry as well as a standard dining room.

• Twelve E12 candelabra bulbs

  Each of the twelve sockets takes a small E12 candelabra-base bulb, up to 40 watts, and none are included, so plan on buying a full set of twelve. The fixture works with a dimmer switch, but only when every bulb is a dimmable candelabra bulb as well, and neither the switch nor the bulbs ship with it.

• Dry rated, UL listed

  This fixture is rated for dry locations only, so keep it in a normal indoor room rather than a bathroom or an uncovered porch. It is UL listed for safety, but a dry rating does not extend to a damp or wet space, even though the frame also works on a sloped ceiling.

• Dusting the iron cage

  Dust the black iron bars and the brass arms with a dry, soft cloth or a long-handled duster to reach between the nested frames, since every side stays visible with no shade to hide it. Wipe the candelabra sockets gently when you change a bulb, and skip water or spray cleaners on the finish.

• What ships, tools needed

  This chandelier arrives with the iron cage, brass arms, canopy, and all six downrod sections included and already assembled. Bulbs are not included, so plan on twelve E12 candelabra bulbs, and add a compatible dimmer switch separately if you want the fixture to dim.
