Marnau Rimains 7-Light Chandelier

Seven lights sit in a 48-inch weathered-walnut cage. Hardwired and chain-hung, it takes standard A19 bulbs, works on a sloped ceiling, and is dry-rated for indoor rooms.

The cage holds seven E26 sockets behind clear glass cylinders, 48 inches wide and about 11 inches tall. Light drops through the open bottoms and out the glass, so the table below reads lit without a cluster of bare lamps in view.

• An open wood-tone frame

  A long rectangular frame in a weathered walnut tone holds seven clear glass cylinders in a single row, each socket finished in matte black with the bulb showing bare through the glass. The open sides let you see straight through the frame instead of a solid box.

• Seven points in a row

  Seven exposed bulbs behind clear glass throw light the full 48-inch length of the frame instead of clustering in the middle. Over a long table or an island it reads as an even row of warm points rather than one bright center.

• Assembled frame, wired by a pro

  The frame itself arrives fully assembled, so there are no cage pieces to build. The electrical side still needs a licensed electrician to hardwire it into a ceiling junction box, and the job calls for a screwdriver, a ladder, and a wire stripper given the fixture's length and weight.

• Two chains, one level frame

  It hangs from two chains connected to a rectangular mounting bar, not one center point, so the frame stays level along its full length. Each chain runs 81 inches, and overall height can reach 110 inches, enough for a standard dining room or a taller great room.

• A19 bulbs, not included

  Each of the seven sockets is a standard E26 base built for an A19 bulb, up to 60 watts, and bulbs are not included. Because the glass is clear, the bulb shape shows through, so a vintage filament bulb suits the frame better than a plain white one. Dimming needs a dimmable bulb in every socket plus a separate dimmer switch, both bought on their own.

• Dry-rated, not wet-rated

  This fixture carries a dry-location rating and a UL listing, which covers a dining room, kitchen, or living room that stays dry. A dry rating is not a damp or wet rating, so keep it away from a covered porch, a bathroom, or anywhere steam or rain could reach the sockets.

• Wipe the frame, dust the glass

  Wipe the frame with a dry cloth to clear dust from the wood-tone finish and the black hardware, and clean the glass cylinders with a barely damp cloth rather than glass cleaner sprayed directly on the fixture. Turn it off and let the bulbs cool before you dust close to a socket.

• Ships assembled, no bulbs

  The frame arrives fully assembled with the glass cylinders in place, so there is no cage to build from parts. Bulbs are not included, and neither is a dimmer switch if you want the fixture on one. Mounting hardware and instructions are in the box for the electrician doing the hardwired hookup.
