Marnau Yoch 4-Light Chandelier

Four lights sit inside a 24-inch cinched beige shade. Hardwired, rod-hung, and dry-rated, it ships with LED Edison bulbs and works on a sloped ceiling.

The fixture holds four bulbs behind a beige rope-wrapped shade, 24 inches across. Light goes up and down through the open ends and through the shade, so the room reads lit without a cluster of bare lamps in view.

• A cinched, rope-wrapped shade

  A wide drum shade narrows at the waist like an hourglass, wrapped edge to edge in fine beige rope with a slim brass band marking the pinch. It hangs from a matching brass rod, reading as one soft fabric shape rather than an open cage or bare bulbs.

• Light escapes up and down

  The shade is open at both the top and the bottom, so light glows upward onto the ceiling as well as downward onto the table, instead of throwing light in just one direction. The rope wrap softens both directions into a warm, even glow.

• Hardwired into a junction box

  This chandelier is hardwired into a ceiling junction box, so it needs an electrician rather than an outlet. It works on a sloped ceiling as well as a flat one, and assembly with a screwdriver is required before it goes up.

• Rod pieces set the height

  It hangs from a rigid rod, not a chain, with two 6-inch downrod pieces in the box to set the drop. Overall height adjusts from 18 inches up to 48 inches, covering a low hang over a table as well as a taller room.

• LED bulbs included, already in

  Unlike most fixtures in this style, the four LED Edison bulbs ship already in the sockets, so there is nothing extra to buy before you turn it on. Each is an E26 base ST19 bulb at 2700K and 420 lumens, drawing 8 watts, with a 40-watt incandescent look. They are dimmable, but only with a compatible dimmer switch, which is not included.

• Dry-rated, not wet-rated

  This fixture carries a dry-location rating and a UL listing, which covers a dining room, living room, or foyer that stays dry. A dry rating is not a damp or wet rating, so keep it off a covered porch or anywhere steam or rain could reach the shade and wiring.

• Dust the rope, wipe the brass

  Dust the rope-wrapped shade with a dry cloth or a soft brush rather than water, which can stain the fibers, and wipe the brass rod and band with a barely damp cloth to clear fingerprints. Turn the fixture off and let the bulbs cool before you dust close to the shade's open top or bottom.

• Ships with bulbs already in

  The shade, rod pieces, canopy, and four LED bulbs all arrive in the box together, already fitted into the sockets, so assembly is mostly mounting rather than wiring in bulbs. A dimmer switch is not included if you want to dim the included bulbs. Plan on an electrician for the hardwired connection.
