The frame folds flat into a full-size bed. Sit upright to lounge, recline halfway, or lay it flat to sleep, with no separate frame to store or assemble.

• A three-seat mission silhouette

  Straight square legs and vertical slats trim both arms, in a honey-toned solid wood frame left fully exposed below the cushions. The seat and back are upholstered in charcoal-gray polyester, tufted with buttons in an even grid. It seats three across an 80-inch frame.

• Assembly required, tools included

  The frame ships unassembled, with the hardware and tools you need included in the box. You bolt the frame's sections together before setting the mattress in place; once assembled, the futon folds between sitting and sleeping by hand, with no further assembly needed.

• Blot with a water-based cleaner

  Blot spills right away with a water-based cleaner made for upholstery, and only that: skip solvents and heavy scrubbing on the polyester cover. The solid wood frame just needs a dry or barely damp cloth, not furniture polish or oil finishes.

• Medium-firm seat, foam over coils

  The seat sits 22 inches high and 21 inches deep, cushioned in foam and cotton over coil springs rated medium-firm. Weight capacity is 500 pounds across the three-seat frame, enough for sitting upright or lying flat once it reclines. Foam density is 1.5 pounds per cubic foot, dense enough to hold its shape under regular use.

• Fits through a 22-inch door

  The frame needs a doorway at least 22 inches wide to get through, and the assembled piece weighs 125 pounds and spans 80 inches wide by 31 inches deep. Measure your entryway and any hallway turns before delivery. The frame and the mattress ship as separate pieces, which makes tight stairwells easier to manage.

• Solid rubberwood, mortise and tenon

  The frame is solid rubberwood, joined with mortise and tenon joints rather than screws alone, finished in a honey-toned shade called Barbados. Vertical slats trim both arms, spaced 4.5 inches apart, and stay exposed rather than upholstered. Inside the cushions, the fill is foam over cotton batting, not down or fiber alone.

• Charcoal-gray polyester with button tufting

  The cushions are covered in charcoal-gray polyester, a durable woven fabric rather than a natural fiber. Both the back and seat are tufted with buttons in an evenly spaced grid, which keeps the foam and cotton fill from shifting inside the cover. The wood frame stays bare rather than upholstered.

• Frame and mattress, both included

  You get the futon frame and a Full-size innerspring mattress in one set, 74 by 54 inches and 6 inches thick. The mattress ships roll-packed and the coil layer recovers to about 5.5 inches from crown to crown once it's unrolled and given time to expand. A 1-year limited warranty is included, though normal wear and tear isn't covered.
