• The open mesh shell

  Back, arms and seat are one continuous molded shell pierced with a fine diamond mesh, so rain runs straight through instead of pooling on the seat. The mesh tightens as it wraps the seat pan and opens up across the back, and each armrest carries a small teardrop cut at the front.

• Nothing to assemble

  There is no assembly. Each chair arrives fully formed out of the box, so there is no hardware to sort, no screws to find and no tools to dig out of a drawer. Unpack the pair, set them down and they are ready to sit on.

• Resin that takes the weather

  The frame is molded resin rated weather resistant, water resistant, UV resistant and rust resistant, so sun and rain are both fine. There is no metal in the legs or the shell to rust, and the UV rating is what keeps the black from fading through a long summer.

• Seat height and the arms

  Seat height is 17.5 inches from the floor and the seat measures 20 inches wide by 17 inches deep, which suits a standard dining table. The armrests sit 26 inches up, the seat pan is contoured rather than flat, and the back leans slightly so you can sit through a long meal.

• Rated to 300 pounds

  Each chair carries a 300 lb weight capacity and the pair is rated contract grade, which is the standard a restaurant buys to. Each chair weighs 9 lb, so the same frame that supports an adult is light enough to lift with one hand and carry across the yard.

• Stacking and the off season
