• Texture, not dye

  The geometric blocks come from pile height, not a printed or dyed pattern: each rib is woven into the surface as the polyester is power loomed, not drawn on afterward or shaped by hand. Run a palm across it and you can feel the ridges the way you see them, low and dense rather than a shag pile that flattens underfoot.

• Five sizes, one texture

• Break-in, not shedding

  Polyester does not shed the way a wool pile does, so there is no cloud of loose fiber to vacuum up in the first weeks. It ships rolled, so expect the ends to curl and a crease or two across the field at first; unroll it and let it lie flat for a day or two and it settles on its own.

• Where it works

  The dense, low pile holds up to daily traffic in a living room, a home office, or a hallway, and the ribbed texture hides light footprints better than a flat pile does. It is rated for indoor rooms only, so keep it away from a mudroom or porch that takes rain, and out of a bathroom where it would stay damp.

• Washing it

  Vacuum on the lowest setting with the beater bar off so the ribs stay put. The smallest size fits a standard washing machine on cold water, gentle cycle, no bleach, then line dry rather than tumble dry. Spot treat anything stubborn before it sets. Larger sizes are a job for an oversized machine or a professional cleaner; bulk is the limit here, not the fiber.

• What ships

  The rug ships rolled in one carton, and nothing else comes with it. A rug pad is not included, and any furniture shown in the photos is sold separately. Check your chosen size against the room and doorway before it arrives, since the largest rectangle is heavy and awkward to send back once it has been unrolled.

• Color in the room

  Moss green reads warmer under a lamp in the evening and cooler in daylight, so look at it against your own floor before choosing between this and a brighter green. Because the pattern comes from texture rather than dye, the ribs catch shadow differently depending on which way light falls across the room, so the same rug can look striped or solid depending on where you stand.
