Bremhaus Teifi Jade and Sunset Area Rug

Teifi lays a faded Persian pattern in jade and sunset across one 10' x 14' rectangle, sized to hold a full seating group or sit under a dining table. Indoor use, shipped flat by ground.

• Indoor use
• One size: rectangle 10' x 14'
• Ships flat by ground

• Low, even pile

The design is power loomed and printed rather than knotted by hand, so the surface is woven flat with a low, even pile and no raised carving. Chairs slide over it, a door clears it in most rooms, and the pattern reads sharp because it is printed into the face rather than tufted.

• Sizing it to the room

At 10 by 14 feet this is a whole room size, not an accent. In a living room it wants the front legs of the sofa and both chairs sitting on it. In a dining room, leave enough rug past the table that a chair stays on the rug when someone pushes back to stand.

• Use a rug pad

A pad is recommended under this rug and is not included. It stops the rug creeping on a hard floor, keeps the corners from curling into a slip hazard, and adds the bit of cushion a low pile does not have on its own. Buy the pad slightly smaller than the rug so it never shows.

• It does not shed

The face is polyester, which does not shed the way a wool pile does, so there is no break-in period of fluff on the floor. It does arrive rolled, so expect creases and a curled edge for the first days. Lay it flat, walk it in, and the roll relaxes on its own.

• Where it works best

This is a durable printed face built for rooms that get used, so it holds up in a living room, under a dining table, or down a wide hallway. It is rated for indoor use only. Keep it off a covered porch or anywhere it will take rain or damp, which will mark the face.

• Everyday cleaning

Vacuum it with the beater bar switched off or removed, because a spinning brush chews a printed low pile. Blot spills straight away with a clean cloth rather than rubbing them in. The fiber resists stains and fading, so most marks lift with water, and deep cleaning is a job for a professional.

• What ships

The rug ships flat by ground rather than folded, so it arrives without a set fold line down the middle. Nothing else is in the carton: a rug pad and any furniture shown in the photos are not included. Check the size against your room before it arrives, since a rug this large is awkward to return.

• Colour on your floor

Screens shift colour, so the jade and the rust here can read cooler or warmer than they will in your room. Warm evening light pushes the border toward terracotta and daylight pulls the field greener. Judge it against your own wood and upholstery for a day before deciding it is right.

Good to know

• 10' x 14' suits a living room when the rug should hold the main seating area.
• At a dining table, mark 120″ × 168″ and check the chair path on every side.
• In a bedroom, 10' × 14' suits a layout meant to reach well past the bed.
