The geometric pattern ships with a deliberately worn, faded look woven in from the start, so the first scuff or patch of sun does not stand out against a crisp new rug the way it would on a flat, solid one.

• A low, dense weave

  The face is machine woven entirely from polypropylene, colorfast so the faded look is built into the yarn rather than a coating that wears off. Pile height is 0.35 inches on the woven face, low and dense enough that most interior doors clear it without a trim.

• Five sizes, one pattern

  This weave ships in five sizes: four rectangles running from 10 by 13 up to 12 by 18, plus a 10 foot round for a breakfast nook or a round table. In a living room, aim for the front legs of the sofa and any chairs to land on the rug rather than sitting just off the edge.

• Use a rug pad

  A rug pad is recommended and not included, mainly to stop the rug slipping on a hard floor. It also keeps the corners from curling up into a trip hazard and adds a bit of cushion under a pile that is fairly low and dense on its own.

• Ships rolled, settles fast

  Made from polypropylene rather than a natural fiber, this rug sheds very little, so there is not much to vacuum up in the first weeks the way a wool pile would leave behind. It ships rolled, and can hold a slight curve at the edges at first. Weight the corners flat for a day or two and it settles into place.

The stain resistant fiber handles occasional spills without much fuss, and spot cleans easily to stay looking fresh over time.
