Five lights sit inside a 22-inch white drum, hung close to the ceiling on a short nickel rod. Hardwired and damp-rated, it takes standard A19 bulbs.

The fixture holds five bulbs behind a white fabric drum, 22 inches across. Light comes through the shade and the bottom diffuser as a soft wash, so the room reads lit without a cluster of bare lamps in view.

• One soft drum, close in

  A wide white fabric drum sits just below the ceiling on a short brushed nickel stem, its plain cylinder shape reading as one clean band of fabric rather than a hanging fixture. A small round diffuser covers the open bottom at the center.

• Diffused light through fabric

  Light passes through both the linen-blend shade and a diffuser at the bottom, so all five bulbs blend into one soft glow instead of five separate points. The effect spreads evenly across a room rather than throwing sharp light in any one direction.

• Hardwired into a junction box

  This fixture is hardwired into a ceiling junction box, so it needs an electrician rather than an outlet. It sits close to the ceiling on a short stem instead of a long drop, and assembly with a screwdriver is required before mounting.

• Nine inches, close to ceiling

  Unlike a pendant on a long chain, this stays close to the ceiling, with an overall hang height of just 9 inches from mounting point to the bottom of the drum. That low profile suits a room with a standard eight-foot ceiling where a hanging fixture would sit too low.

• A19 bulbs, not included

  Each of the five sockets is a standard E26 base built for an A19 bulb, up to 60 watts, and bulbs are not included. Because both the fabric shade and the diffuser hide the bulbs, a plain bulb works just as well as a decorative one. Add a dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs if you want to dim it.

• Damp-rated, not wet-rated

  This fixture carries a damp rating with UL and cUL listing, so it can go in a bathroom outside direct shower spray or a covered porch, not just a dry room. A damp rating is still not a wet rating, so keep it out of a shower stall or anywhere it could take direct water.

• Dust the shade, wipe the stem

  Dust the fabric shade with a dry cloth or a vacuum brush attachment on low suction, and wipe the brushed nickel stem and canopy with a barely damp cloth. Turn the fixture off and let the bulbs cool before you dust close to a socket or touch the diffuser.

• Ships as parts, no bulbs

  The drum shade, diffuser, stem, and canopy arrive ready to assemble with a screwdriver; bulbs are not included, and neither is a dimmer switch if you want the fixture on one. Plan on an electrician for the hardwired connection once assembly is done.
