Bremhaus Ystwyth Oriental Performance Rug

Five sizes take the rug from an 8'×10' footprint to an 11'×15' floor field, so the choice can follow the room instead of forcing one proportion.

The softened finish keeps the pattern from reading crisp or formal. In the room, it settles beneath the furniture instead of competing with every colour and outline above it.

• A softened oriental medallion

A beige medallion sits at the center of Ystwyth, framed by a diamond lattice field and several nested borders that run from a slim dotted line out to a wide floral band. The palette stays soft and worn rather than crisp, so the pattern reads traditional and quiet instead of competing with the furniture set on top of it.

• Vacuum only, never soak

Vacuum Ystwyth with the beater bar and rotating brush switched off, since a spinning brush chews at a power loomed pile instead of lifting dust. Blot spills right away with a dry cloth rather than rubbing them in, and keep water to a light dab: the jute backing does not take well to a soaking and can stain if it gets wet through. Leave a deeper clean to a professional.

• Power-loomed polypropylene, 0.28 inch pile

Ystwyth is power loomed from polypropylene, a synthetic fiber chosen for a traditional look that shrugs off everyday wear. The spec sheet lists a 0.28 inch pile, the height of the woven yarn itself; the rug also carries a jute backing on the underside, so the finished stack stays thin and sits close to the floor without much added thickness.

• Pair it with a pad

Ystwyth does not include a rug pad, and a jute backing does not grip a hard floor on its own the way a rubber pad would. Set the rug on a proper pad to stop it slipping underfoot, keep the edges from curling, and add a layer of cushion so the low pile feels softer to walk on.

• No shedding, flattens quickly

Ystwyth does not shed: the polypropylene pile is power loomed rather than hand knotted or tufted, so there is no loose fiber to vacuum up in the first weeks the way a wool rug would need. It ships rolled, and any crease from the box relaxes within a day or two of lying flat once it is unrolled and the furniture is back in place.

• Five sizes, one border

  Ystwyth comes in five sizes: 8' x 10', 9' x 12', a 10' square, 10' x 14', and 11' x 15', running from 96 by 120 inches up to 132 by 180 inches. The 8' x 10' suits a compact living room with the sofa's front legs on the rug, while 9' x 12' or the square 10' gives a dining table room for chairs to pull back.

• Living room to home office

Ystwyth moves easily between a living room, dining room, bedroom or home office: the medallion pattern hides everyday wear, and the power loomed pile takes daily foot traffic without flattening. Set at an entryway, the wide floral border is the first pattern feet meet, doing the early work of catching grit before it spreads through the rest of the house.

• The rug only, no pad

Ystwyth arrives as the rug itself, rolled and wrapped for the trip; no rug pad, mounting strips or extra trim comes with it. If the room calls for a pad, order one separately in the size chosen, since it is not included in the box.
