The centre field is a repeating floral medallion in cream, beige and grey against a deep navy ground, framed by a wide patterned border. The design is dense enough to hide the wear pattern of daily foot traffic.

  A dense floral vine scroll fills the navy field edge to edge, framed by a wide ivory border patterned with the same small blooms in beige and blue. The layout is a classic oriental one, symmetrical and detailed enough to anchor a room on its own.

• A pattern that hides wear

  The repeat is dense enough that the wear pattern of daily foot traffic disappears into the design instead of showing as a path. A navy ground with this much detail going on is forgiving of exactly the kind of everyday use a rug like this gets.

• Material and pile

  The face is polypropylene, machine woven into a low, dense pile 0.35 inches deep, so every line of the vine and floral pattern stays crisp instead of blurring at a deeper pile height. The backing is jute, visible in the fold-back detail shot, a flat woven layer rather than foam.

• Choosing your size

  This one comes in a single size, 8 feet 9 inches by 12 feet 3 inches, big enough for a seating group or a table with the chairs pulled out. Under a dining table, the chairs stay on the rug even when pulled back to sit down. In a bedroom, center it under the bed so it extends past the nightstands on both sides.

• Use a rug pad

  The jute backing already grips a hard floor better than a synthetic backing would, but a pad is still recommended and not included. It protects the jute from grinding against the floor over time and softens the low, dense pile a touch further underfoot.
