Natural jute and sisal fibers are woven together so the surface reads as a soft marbled linen rather than one flat tone. The geometric weave shows through at close range and settles into texture from across the room.

• A basket weave border

  The geometric weave reads like a woven basket up close, blending linen and marble tones so no single thread stands out, then settles into an even texture from across the room. A solid tan border frames all four sides and gives the piece a finished, tailored edge.

• Jute and sisal, power loomed

  Jute and sisal fibers are woven together on a power loom, which is what keeps the geometric pattern lined up the same way from the smallest size to the largest. The spec sheet lists pile height, the woven pile itself, at 0.38 inches; the backing sits underneath that number, so a doorway with little clearance is still worth measuring.

• Twelve sizes, one runner

  This weave ships in twelve sizes, from a 6 by 8 foot rectangle or oval up to an 11 by 15 foot rectangle for a full room, plus a 2 foot 6 inch by 22 foot runner for a hallway and round or square cuts from 8 to 10 feet. Rest a sofa's front feet on the rug to anchor a living room seating area.

• Latex grips, pad optional

  The backing here is a full latex layer, not a thin dotted coating, and that is what keeps this rug from sliding or creeping on a hard floor. Because the grip is already built in, a separate rug pad is optional; add one anyway if you want extra cushioning underfoot or plan to put it over a rug already resting on carpet.

• Minimal shed, ships flat

  Power loomed rather than hand woven, this flatweave does not require a long break-in: expect a little loose fiber to shed in the first few vacuum passes as any new rug settles, then very little after that. • Vacuum only, skip the beater bar

  The spec sheet is direct about this one: vacuum regularly, but skip the beater bar or rotating brush so the natural jute and sisal fibers do not fray or pull loose. Blot a spill right away with a dry or barely damp cloth rather than soaking it, since natural fiber can stain or weaken when it stays wet.

• The rug ships, pad does not

  What arrives is the flatweave itself, bound with its tan border and ready to lie flat once unrolled. A rug pad is not included, though with the latex backing already gripping the floor, most rooms will not need one. Let it settle for a day before pushing furniture back into place.
