Grevane Sunart Low Profile Wingback Bed

A wingback that sits low enough to keep the light. The headboard curves in at the shoulders while the frame stays close to the floor, so the window behind the bed keeps its view and the wall above it reads taller. In a small room this is the piece you notice, at eye level instead of overhead.

• Wings that fold forward

  The headboard rises in tall, even channels of cream velvet, bordered by a smooth strip along the top with a wing folding forward at each side. Splayed, tapered legs in light wood hold the frame close to the floor, giving the whole piece a settled, mid-century weight.

• About an hour to build

  Assembly is required, and the tools ship in the box so there is nothing to source first. Plan on 1 to 1.5 hours: the headboard goes together first, then the slat kit and its center support legs drop into the frame.

• Slats, no foundation needed

  Manufactured wood slats sit about 4.5 inches apart across 5 center support legs, and the mattress rests directly on them, no box spring and no separate foundation. This frame is not built to pair with an adjustable base, unlike some other platform designs, so a standard mattress is the match here.

• Twin, Full/Double or Queen

  The frame comes in three sizes: Twin, Full/Double and Queen. Twin publishes a full set of numbers, 40.1 inches wide, 78.7 inches long and 37.1 inches to the top of the headboard; Full/Double and Queen publish only their 80 inch length, so measure your own mattress and room for the width on those two.

• 6.8 inches, a short drop

  From the floor to the bottom of the side rail is 6.8 inches, so there is only a slim gap underneath, not real storage space. Because the rails sit this low, a tall mattress will show more of its own side above the frame than it would on a bed with deeper rails, and getting in or out is a short, easy drop rather than a step up.

• Velvet over eucalyptus wood

  The upholstery is a cream velvet over the whole frame, and underneath, the wood is solid and manufactured, including eucalyptus, plywood and laminate board. Splayed legs in a light brown finish are shaped from the same wood family, tying the tone together from floor to headboard.

• 500 pounds, every size

  Weight capacity holds at 500 pounds across Twin, Full/Double and Queen alike, carried down through the 5 center support legs under the slats. That figure covers the mattress, bedding and sleepers together, not anything extra piled on top of the bed.

• Wipe clean, keep it dry

  Wipe the velvet with a dry cloth for everyday dust, working in the direction of the pile so it does not crush unevenly. Blot any spill right away instead of rubbing it in, and keep the fabric away from direct, prolonged sun, which can fade light colors over time.

• What arrives, mattress not included

  The box includes the headboard, the frame rails, the splayed legs, the center support legs and the manufactured wood slat kit, along with the tools to put it together. A mattress is not included and is not compatible with an adjustable base, so plan on a standard mattress underneath it.
