  Cream velvet wraps a low, rectangular headboard, with broad horizontal channels stitched across it for texture instead of buttons. The same fabric continues down the platform base, and short, squared legs in a near-black finish keep the whole piece close to the floor.

• Two people, about 30 minutes

  Assembly is required, and every part, the tools and the hardware ship together in one box, so there is nothing to buy separately. Plan on two people and about 30 minutes to put the frame together, most of it the headboard and the rails.

• No box spring required

  The included slat kit carries the mattress directly, with slats spaced about 3.9 inches apart, so there is no box spring to add. Center support legs brace the platform underneath, and the frame is also built to work with an adjustable base if you use one.

• Twin, Full or Queen

  The frame comes in three sizes, Twin, Full and Queen, each one built to the same low profile and the same 800 pound rating. It works with a latex, memory foam or spring mattress alike, since the slat kit underneath gives any of them a flat, even deck to rest on.

• Low frame, low clearance

  Overall the bed stands 43.3 inches to the top of the headboard, with the headboard section itself 23.8 inches high and 2.7 inches deep. Underneath, clearance is 4.5 inches, closer to a gap for a vacuum head than storage bins, and the back of the headboard is finished if you want it floating off a wall.

• Velvet over wood and steel

  Cream velvet upholstery covers dense foam padding on the outside, while the frame underneath is manufactured wood and metal, with kiln-dried wood held together by cam bolts. Plastic foot plugs sit under the legs so they will not scratch the floor.

• 800 pounds, every size

  Weight capacity holds steady at 800 pounds no matter which size you pick, Twin, Full or Queen. That number covers the mattress, bedding and the people on it, carried through the center support legs and the wood and metal frame underneath.

• Wipe the velvet, don't soak

  Wipe the velvet with a dry cloth or a soft brush to lift dust out of the pile, going with the nap rather than against it. Blot spills right away instead of rubbing, and keep the fabric away from soaking water, which can flatten or stain velvet permanently.

• Everything in one box

  The box includes the headboard, the frame rails, the center support legs, the slat kit, plastic foot plugs and the hardware and tools to assemble it, plus instructions. The mattress is not included and is chosen separately, whatever size you order.
